Through it's operating subsidiaries and recognizable brands, Digital 1 Media is leading the way in digital entertainment software and technology. In 1999, its PCDJ brand revolutionized and changed music playback forever.
Prior to that date disc jockeys would play vinyl and or cd's at venues or live on the air. The entire industry and record labels were still promoting new releases on vinyl. This all changed when Digital 1 Media's DJ & Karaoke Software division released the first commercial DJ dual mp3 player product on the global marketplace. PCDJ was born!
This innovation has forever changed how music is played, both offline and online. Since then you can't go to a wedding or a karaoke bar, or even a club and see DJ's using traditional vinyl. Now DJ's use computers, to play mp3's and play music and perform karaoke.
Like most innovations, this initially met a lot of skepticism but our vision has led us to be positioned firmly at the top of the professional DJ and Karaoke software industry leaving an indelible mark, and changing forever how computers can be used to play media outside of the home and at professional venues, and entertainment events. Before our day, no one would have ever imagined using a PC to DJ a wedding, or perform in a club, or live on the air.
Beyond merely creating software that changed how dj's would work with digital audio files, PCDJ's innovation led the industry once again in how the music and software was controlled. After all it was hard for a DJ to look cool while performing with just a keyboard and mouse. This is why we introduced the digital audio controller. Known as the DAC-2 controller, the hardware/software combination brought to the market place by PCDJ has forever changed the face and sound of the music industry.
Taking it one step further, through our research and feedback, we were able to solve another music industry related problem that had been vexing producers and labels for years. The promotional vinyl and record pool circuit. Digital 1 Media again forged a new market by launching the first mp3 record pool, known as the world wide record pool, formerly of "TheRecordPool.com" fame. This technological leap further further perpetuated the shift to an all digital musical world, as it pre-dated Itunes and even Beatport, as a unique online source for promotional mp3 music files.
This innovation continues today with the advent of Venue VJ, also known as karaokelocker.com, an online resource for Karaoke Hosts to acquire karaoke song downloads, as well as stock footage, and visualizations for VJ performers. Working with several national and international content providers, Venue VJ is yet another innovation from Digital 1 Media.
After eleven years of cutting edge breakthroughs, D1 is now entering a global market place aimed at consumers. Introducing ARIA. ARIA is an all-in-one MAC and WINDOWS based entertainment software that puts this digital revolution in the hands of the fans. ARIA allows the user, regardless of skill level, to mix and scratch audio and video files, and turn their computer into a complete karaoke system.
